A Pair of
Silver Chopstick
By Sheng-Yen
Lu
My teacher Tu Deng Da Ji of Hong Kong
once told me: [Sheng-Yen Lu, you should have to prepare a pair
of silver chopstick.]
Listening his advice, I muted, but, I
was astounded to his words.
I realized there were some meanings
indicated in his saying which I regarded as a gesture of
concern. He already directly told me,
that a student was about to injure me.
Thankful to him at that moment, I
remained quiet because I could not answer him unprudently. I had
to think carefully before giving him a reply.
Gautama’s follower placed poisonous
within his nail before making an attempt to put it on Gautama
foot.
The Jesus was nailed to the cross,
betrays by [Judas] the one of his followers.
The Grand Master of Tantric (Buddhism
religion) Mi Le Re Ba passed away from the poison in beverage by
his own follower.
There were uncounted instances such as
the above-mentioned murder cases committed by followers of the
respective Master taking place in the history.
Therefore, today the problem that I am
confronted is one of such occurrences. Should I prepare [are a
pair of silver chopstick to test whether my food is poisoned
before taking a meal? Should I go ahead with the meal
irrespective of the consequences.
Now I, aged 56 have been giving Dhama
discourses for 30 years and have written one hundred and forty
three books. After giving many talks and writings many books, I
have been experiencing this kind of life without fear and worry.
Therefore, I can say that today "True Buddha Tantric Dhama"
speading far and wide is changed over by delicate body.
Nowadays, many people know that Lian
Sheng Living Buddha Sheng-yen Lu has a wife (Master Lian Xiang),
a son (Fo Qi, an university graduate), a daughter (Fo Qing, Dr.
Degree of law), owns houses and cars which were given by
students.
Inspite of having a wife and children,
my true wealth is not on the earth but in the heaven.
What I possess is the enlightenment of
the sentient beings. Full of Dharma Wisdom is my endless
property.
Immersing myself in Dhrma world, person
like me no longer in guest of material confort of other things.
Since my Dhrma wheel is rolling, I have
nothing to pursuit. This is the time for all the Dharma Master,
monks, nuns and our Dharma brothers & sisters to make use of
your Dharma Wheels.
I hereby sincerely give an answer to my
teacher that I do not need a pair of silver chopsticks. It does
not mean I am purposely impatient looking for a fatality
instead, dying under the hand of my students is much
better than dying in the hand of a stranger!
